Love of Learning, Love of Life

Vision Statement

Imagine a place, where adults and children together flourish as enthusiastic, highly successful learners: a place where challenges are enthusiastically welcomed as chances to grow, where mistakes are seen as doorways to discovery and where dreams are actively pursued.

Notice how people are inspired to discover and develop their unique talents. Watch as they become writers, orators, mathematicians, musicians, scientists, athletes, artists, philosophers, actors, gardeners, engineers and designers.  Look at the way that advancements in technology are eagerly embraced to enhance and enrich learning.

Listen to the buzz of excitement as people learn from each other.  Hear them asking questions, pursuing solutions and learning skills that will prepare them to stand strong, making a positive difference in God’s world.

Enjoy how people care for each other in a harmonious, united community. Join in the many celebrations in a culture of praise and encouragement. Watch as they show patience, tolerance and compassion to one other, understanding that by working together, they can achieve so much more.

Admire the way that people respect their environment.  Appreciate the bright, airy welcoming spaces inside and the carefully tended outdoor areas, which all invite people to ‘come and learn’.

Sense how learning extends beyond the boundaries of the school to include the wider community and especially St James’ Church.

This is St James’ CEC Primary School -  a place to cultivate a life-long love of learning, and a love of life itself.
