St. James' CEC Primary School

Congratulations to Mr Gallop, our Year 6 teacher and Key Stage 2 leader, who has been named winner of the “Teacher of the Year in a Primary School” in the Southern Region at a ceremony in Winchester.

We're all delighted for him and look forward to supporting him at the National Awards in London, to be announced in October 2008.

Welcome to our school's web site. We hope you find it useful and informative.

Our Mission statement is ...

"By working together we enable our children to flourish as enthusiastic and successful learners, prepared to make a positive difference in God's world"

A St. James' school has been in Emsworth for more than 150 years. The school is proud to be closely associated with the church with which we share our name. Sometimes we are referred to as 'The Church School'.

Our Church inspection in January of 2008 found that we are a school where "an outstanding Christian ethos is promoted by the excellent examples of staff, supported by the governors and local clergy."

Emsworth is a pretty village on the south coast between Portsmouth and Chichester. The small shopping centre provides all the important amenities and the village has its own railway station and excellent links via road system to the motorway networks. Many of our parents are associated with large corporations or the Forces and these facilities are very important to them.

Children in this part of Hampshire are very lucky because of the wide range of facilities in the area. Emsworth has two major sailing clubs and nearby are tennis, cricket, rugby, swimming and football clubs of all shapes and sizes.
