About Us
Our school serves the children of the local community which is centred on the village of Emsworth. Almost all of our children are from within catchment which means they live fairly close to the school. Sometimes we have a spare space which is filled by a child from farther away but this is rare. Our children are keen to come to school and we try hard to give them a good education and an enjoyable time. The school motto is 'Love of Learning, Love of Life' and that really is how we try to see things.
Our Mission Statement is...
"By working together, we enable our children to flourish as enthusiastic and successful learners, prepared to make a positive difference in God's world."

We are a popular school and generally oversubscribed but we are very keen to take children from within our community so it's always worth giving an application a try! The school is one-form entry which means that we take in one class of children each year. In fact, because the government decided to make maximum classes of 30 in the infants, we have to have mixed age classes in Key Stage 1 (infants).
The infant classes are the Dolphins, Seals, Starfish and Seahorses and the Year 3 class (first junior class) is the Chameleons to reflect the way the children are changing between infants and juniors. The other years have the less exciting names Year 4, 5 and 6.
We provide a curriculum based on the National Curriculum. To this we add PSHE - Personal, Social and Health Education. Citizenship has been included for the juniors. The children do well in the End-of-Key Stage Assessments (SATs) and the school has been joint third in Hampshire and joint fifth nationally. This high rating may not last because as a small school we are subject to lots of variables which affect the position year-on-year. Nevertheless, it is a reflection of our very good teachers and our wonderful children.
The School Council is led by Erika Biddlecombe
We have a great team comprising teachers, teaching assistants and a wide range of ancillary staff. Every member of our team has a valuable part to play.
